What is Barsi Shradh?
Barsi, or varshik shraddh, is the shraddh offered every year on the tithi of a family member's death. The first Barsi falls a year after the death. The timing of Sapindikarana varies by tradition, so the procedure depends on whether it has already been performed.
How the date is fixed
The date follows the lunar tithi of the death, not the English calendar date. Share the date of death and we confirm the tithi and the day with the Pandaji.
The vidhi
