Three-day and seventeen-day Gaya Shradh: route differences

Both the three-day and seventeen-day Gaya Shradh cover all 45 vedis. The three-day arrangement starts at the Falgu and visits more vedis each day. The seventeen-day arrangement starts with the entry shraddh at Punpun and spreads the 45 vedis over more days, with fewer visited each day. Choose according to the time your family can give and the daily schedule you can manage.

The three-day route through Gaya’s 45 vedis

Over three days the Pandaji leads the family from the Falgu ghats to the Vishnupad footprint, the Akshay Vat, Pret Shila and each remaining vedi in the proper order - tarpan, pind and sankalp at every step, exactly as the vidhi asks.

Who chooses the 45-vedi Shradh?

Many families come to Gaya once in a lifetime to repay the pitru-rin in full. The 45-vedi Shraddha is chosen when a family wishes to leave nothing incomplete - the whole scriptural sequence, performed once, for all their ancestors.

Pandit, samagri and travel between vedis

The package includes a Gayawal Pandaji, samagri and guidance throughout the three-day rite. Transport between vedis is not included. Tell us about any mobility needs before booking; a vehicle can be arranged for a separate charge.

Questions families ask

Frequently asked questions

How much does the three-day Gaya Shradh cost?

The 45-vedi arrangement costs ₹25,000 per family, including the purohit, samagri and dakshina. It starts at the Falgu and needs three full days. Confirm the separate accommodation and transport requirements with the team before booking.

What are the 45 vedis?

The vedis are the sacred altars spread across the Gaya kshetra where pind is offered. The complete Shraddha visits all of them across three days; a shorter rite covers the main sites only.

Does this include Pret Shila?

Yes. The full 45-vedi route includes Pret Shila and every other prescribed altar, so the rite is complete.

How many days should we keep free?

Plan for three full days in Gaya. During Pitru Paksha allow extra time for the crowds.

Can Vayu arrange stay and transport for all three days?

Yes. Pandaji, samagri, local movement between the vedis and stay support can all be coordinated.
